Adam S. Weinberg

Dr. Adam Weinberg joined Denison University as its 20th president in 2013, focusing on career preparation, student flourishing, athletics, affordability, civic fluency, and intellectual pluralism. Under his leadership Denison has become a national leader in career preparation — recently ranked No. 3 in the country for career services — launched more than a dozen new programs including Finance, Machine Learning & AI, and Organizational Strategy & Leadership, and became one of only a few colleges to meet the full demonstrated financial need of every student, alongside a new pricing transparency initiative, The Denison Commitment. A long-standing proponent of intellectual pluralism and civic fluency, he was an original member of the Institute for Citizens & Scholars’ CP2 initiative, and Denison is developing a new center honoring Senator Richard Lugar. He sits on the NCAA Division III Presidents Council, including its Futures Subcommittee, and is past President of the North Coast Athletic Conference Presidents’ Council. His passion for athletes is personal: he grew up an avid ice hockey player and his family remains deeply involved in youth, college, and professional hockey. He began his career at Colgate University as a faculty member and Dean of the College, and before Denison served as president and CEO of World Learning. He publishes widely on the college search process, the transition into college, and student flourishing, and serves on boards including the Council on Foreign Relations, the Columbus Partnership, and DIS Study Abroad.
