Rachel Bergeson

Rachel Bergeson was hired as Athletic Director for Concordia College in the summer of 2018.

Bergeson has held numerous leadership roles at Concordia, including Deputy Athletics Director, Senior Woman Administrator, Compliance Officer, and Interim Director of Athletics. A lifelong Cobber, she also previously served as an assistant women’s basketball coach from 2007–11, helping lead the program to a 92-43 record and and a spot in the MIAC playoffs in five straight seasons along with multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.

Bergeson is the first female athletic director in Cobber athletics history. She is only the fifth athletic director Concordia has had since 1976.

A 2005 Concordia graduate with a degree in Biology Education, Bergeson began her career as a middle school science teacher and coach in Braham, Minnesota. She later earned a master’s degree in Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science, with an emphasis in Sport Pedagogy and Sport Leadership, from North Dakota State University.

Under Bergeson’s leadership, Cobber Athletics has continued to expand its competitive opportunities, enhance facilities, strengthen student-athlete support, and build a culture centered on excellence, dedication, and growth.
