Sara Custer

Sara Custer is editor in chief at Inside Higher Ed, where she leads the newsroom and hosts The Key podcast. Under her direction, Inside Higher Ed remains the leading source of news and analysis for the U.S. higher education sector, read by 94 percent of U.S. colleges and universities.

She's covered higher education from Mexico to Zimbabwe to Vietnam, building expertise in how universities operate on a global scale. Before joining Inside Higher Ed, she held several roles at Times Higher Education in London, including digital editor and founding editor of THE Campus. She got her start reporting on international education at The PIE News.
